💌 Notes from Natalie

As you’re reading this, I am hopefully hanging out with my daughter. Maybe we are working out together, or shopping (I mean 18 year olds are expensive lol).

I finished writing this last night so I could actually be present with her today. Progress not perfection, right?

She’s in town for a few days and this time she’s actually helping me with some work stuff. I love that for us. Mother daughter time plus a little creativity and productivity sprinkled in.

OK let’s talk about last weekend.

Vegas.

I am just not a Vegas person. What happened in Vegas is not staying in Vegas (I could not wait to get home!) I was there for a work mastermind thing.

Maybe some of you love Vegas. If you do, I respect it. I just cannot do the late nights, flashing LED lights, constant noise, smoke, gambling vibe. I do not drink. I do not gamble. I do not enjoy staying up past my bedtime. I am that girl who wants the early dinner, early show and back in bed by 9:30. #stickinmud

Midlife is humbling like that. Give me good sleep over bottle service any day.

It was a good reminder that next time I go, I am staying somewhere without a casino attached. I cannot with the lights and the chaos. My nervous system was like, absolutely not ma’am.

So tell me. Can you relate? Or are you reading this thinking, Natalie you are officially 104 years old. 🤣

What we DID see was O by Cirque du Soleil and I have to say, it was incredible. I saw it a long time ago and it was just as good the second time. The athleticism and the music is so fun to watch! O was mostly in WATER too. Super cool to watch the way they move through water like it is nothing.

I will always love a good Cirque show. It is like art meets elite athlete meets what is happening and how are they not injured? And have they ever gotten injured in the performances?? I have so many questions!! But the best part? The cast pulled BROOKS out of the audience to be part of the pre show lol

And no, he did not know and no, this was not planned!

Now onto something that might actually change your life.

The last two weeks I have been experimenting with changing my mornings.

I am not a rigid morning routine person. I am not doing 27 steps before sunrise with a green juice balanced on my head at all but I DO know this:

If I start my day intentionally, I feel better all day.

If I grab my phone and scroll first thing, my day kind of gets hijacked.

I do know that If you scroll the first 15 minutes of your day, you hand over your nervous system to anxiety, comparison mode, the “I am already behind” feeling and that subtle not enough feeling.

And it can set the tone for the next 12 hours.

We do not just lose 15 minutes. We lose authority over our mood.

Our brains wake up neutral. Ready to be programmed with whatever we feed it first.

This week on Midlife Conversations I interviewed one of my best friends Allison Maslan. She calls her morning practice Vision Crafting.

She is in her 60s. She still does trapeze. Yes actual trapeze. She has scaled multiple businesses, lives in her dream homes, and this is her 12th business. That is not luck, this is her  pattern.

And she credits so much of it to how she programs her mornings.

Here is the short version of what she does as she explains it:

Step 1

Turn on something uplifting before you touch your phone. Music. A talk. A podcast. Shift your state first.

Step 2

Gratitude as if it already happened. Not “I hope this works out.” But “I am so grateful I am getting stronger and healthier.” You cannot hold fear and gratitude at the same time.

Step 3

Write your intentions in the present tense. Health. Energy. Relationships. Money. Write them as if they are your now life.

Step 4

Close your eyes and feel it. The feeling is the key. Your body responds to what you feel, not just what you think.

It sounds simple. It is simple but it is also super powerful!

You can listen to the episode on Apple here or Spotify here, or watch it on YouTube here.

We also talked about her background in homeopathy and how that intersects with vision, belief and the body. It is a really good one.

Now if you are even a tiny bit curious about quantum energy, this next part is for you.

If you are rolling your eyes, that is fine too. We can still be friends.

❣ What I’m Loving/Trying This Week…

I did a free trial with Quantum Upgrade 🙌

What is that you ask? Let me try to explain it without sounding cray cray…

Quantum Upgrade is basically a frequency based streaming service that you turn on for yourself.

You pick what you want to support, like sleep, focus, calm, recovery, relationships, business, whatever, and it “runs” in the background energetically.

There is nothing to wear, nothing to plug in, nothing to take. It is not a supplement and it is not a device. The idea is that it interacts with your body’s energy field and helps shift you into a more coherent, regulated state. I know that sounds a little woo woo. I thought so too.

But when I tried it, I actually noticed subtle but real shifts in my sleep and stress, and as someone who feels everything, I pay attention to that.

I actually forgot I had turned it on.

Then I interviewed the founder of Leela Quantum Tech, Philipp von Holtzendorff-Fehling, and he started explaining how Quantum Upgrade science works. And I realized I had activated it two weeks earlier and during that time my sleep and energy had shifted.

Do I have a perfect scientific explanation for you in this email? No.

Do I know I felt different? Yes.

It is free to try. You do not even put in a credit card. If you love it, amazing. If not, you walk away. I have a full podcast episode with him coming soon.

Try it HERE and use code NATALIEJILL at checkout for your free trial!

And finally, the thing I missed the most while traveling.

My sauna. 🧖‍♀️

Specifically my mPulse from Sunlighten.

With DC travel and then straight to Vegas, I could not wait to get home and get back in it. If I could only keep one age optimizing tool in my house, it would be this. I sleep better. I recover better. I feel calmer. It is my reset button.

I have the one person mPulse which actually fits two people. Ours is outside in the shade and I genuinely look forward to it.

If you are even considering one, do a free consult and just say I sent you. Get your questions answered. See if it makes sense for your space.

OK that is this week.

Daughter time. Vegas lights. Morning mindset shifts. Trapeze in your 60s. Quantum experiments. Sauna love. ❤

And now I really want to know.

Are you team early dinner early show early bed?

Or are you team thriving under neon lights at midnight?

Tell me so I know I am not the only midlife grandma in cute sneakers sneaking back to her hotel room before the party even starts.

OH and one more ask!! I want to ask my daughter to interview ME. Not sure if she will be down with doing it but if she WILL what would you want her to ask me?

Till next week,

Natalie Jill
